Move your database or how to export all your posts...

  1. and coments...
Before one week i create my own domain and host. And the first thing i did was to move my blog.
But there was one big problem.
I was traying all day, but nothing happens.
    Nothing, nada, end... zero...
After hours reading and trying i export (or import, whatever you like) all my post and comments... but they were all moved like... posts!
    So... what to do now?
How to move my blog (and posts) to my new blog (wordpress again)?

  2. I'm working on a method of being able to export and import a WP.com hosted blog. More will follow in a day or two. So far, this is covered in the FAQ at the head of the forum.

  3. Can anybody help? I need the following info (in exact form) so I can import wordpress posts to another blog.
The other blog is asking for this info to begin its "import"

    Thanks
    A.W.

    Server/Hostname: ??????
    Database: ?????
    Username: awakenedwarrior
    Password: ******
    Table Prefix: wp_

  4. It's asking for your MySQL information.

  5. Drmike
What's MySQL, where do I find it and how does it relate to::

    Server/Hostname: ??????
    Database: ?????
    Username: awakenedwarrior
    Password: ******
    Table Prefix: wp_
    Thanks

  6. drmike has not been on the forum for about 4 hours now so I expect that he won't be available again until tomorrow.

  7. That's something you're going to have to discuss with your new webhost or over at the other forums.

If you are asking though what MySQL is, I've got to strongly suggest that running your own site may not be a good idea for you. Just for reference, here's the Wikipedia artcile on MySQL.

  8. I am searching for the same information... Not that I want to drop wordpress, they are great, but I just need to get this information to import my stuff to Quickblog over at godaddy, and I may end up using wp overthere eventually, but would like for the time being get my wp stuff over there and I need the database and table prefix stuff to do it??/ please help...
