I was domain mapping but now I am completely on my own host. Should I add a "Please visit my new site here" message on all my posts and pages--since Google search results have not updated to my new domain. Will this hurt or help my new Page Ranking?

Moved to a new Domain
I would set a static page as the entry of your WP.com blog, with a message to go to the new URL. Links that were to your domain upgraded-URL will go to your new blog automatically; the only ones that won't are the ones to your whatever.wordpress.com blog. You might want to paste an Update on the top of those, or put it in a text widget in your sidebar where it will show on all posts, provided your theme shows sidebars on posts.
Will it change your pagerank? Duplicate material will hurt your pagerank, which is why many people delete their WP.com blog contents (not the whole blog though) when they move. That's a good idea, once you're sure you got all the contents.
