Moving

  1. Trying to move followers and subscribers from my wordpress.com to my self hosted site.

The blog I need help with is jimmylandscapes.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi artbyjimmy,

Are you moving to a self-hosted WordPress site?

  3. Yes

  4. You can do this yourself by following these steps.

    WordPress.com to self-hosted site

If you are getting ready to go to a self-hosted WordPress site and would like to bring your subscribers with you, we can also help you with that but you’ll need to do a bit of preparation first:

    1. On your self-hosted WordPress site, install the Jetpack plugin, connect it to WordPress.com with your WordPress.com username, and make sure the Subscriptions module is activated.

    2. Optionally, add the Jetpack Subscriptions widget to your sidebar.

    3. Optionally, on your WordPress.com site from which you’ll want to transfer your followers, post a notice telling your site’s followers that you’ll be moving, and that their subscriptions will be going along with you. This is because, while your email subscribers will continue to receive email notifications of new posts as before, WordPress.com followers will only see new posts in the Reader. They will not receive email updates unless they subscribe to receive those on your new site, which they can do if you've added the Subscriptions widget.

    4. Once Jetpack is connected and ready to go, and you’ve informed your readers about the upcoming move, you can transfer your subscribers right from your WordPress.com user account by following the steps outlined in the Subscription Migration Tool guide.

If you prefer, you can also contact staff and they'll move your subscribers for you. Just add the modlook tag in this topic and wait patiently for their reply.

    Hope this helps. :)
