moving around in a large page

  • I have a table with over 600 rows on one page. the items are in alphabetical order. I would like to make it easier for my visitors to get to the relevant starting letter. My idea is: to have the ABC at the top of the page and have an embedded code attached to each letter and when it is clicked on the page would scroll up until the chosen letter is visible. A bit like a table of content in a Word document.
I also was thinking to have a command at the end of the page to jump up to the start of the page.
    Any ideas?
    Wolfgang

This is the address of the page in question

  • You can do page jumps this way:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/page-jumps/

    It’s fiddly but it works.

  • yep, I got it to work, and yep, very fiddly. therefore I only installed jumps and returns to 5 places.
What would be good if there would be a page specific search function where people could type in the song they are after and it would take them to the location.
the standard wordpress search function is too “sensitive”.
for example: If a song is called “A Media Luz”. it shows up all finds of “A” all of “Media” and all of “Luz” . You can imagin, this does not work.

You know, in advanced searches you can put words in parenthesis and only the complete finds are displayed. that’s what I would like. Really.

Am I asking for too much?
    ciao, Wolfgang
