   My question is around moving/exporting my data from my current wordpress.com blog to my new, GoDaddy hosted wordpress.org blog.

   I have downloaded wordpress.org 2.8 and am hosted at GoDaddy. All is good there. When I export the data from my wordpress.com blog, will my wordpress.com blog (www.kidfriendly.com) still be in operation? I'd like to be able to export the data, play around, demo and test my new GoDaddy hosted blog with the blog content, but still have my wordpress.com blog in operation and live while I test and play with my Godaddy blog.

   Also, I've been looking at a lot of free and for-purchase themes for my new GoDaddy hosted blog. Any functionality I should be on the lookout for, ie need it support WP v2.8, etc, etc?

   Yes, your WordPress.com blog will remain active.

   Any questions regarding WordPress.org themes should be directed to http://www.wordpress.org/support

   also is it possible to make the wordpress.com page automatically redirect to the new wordpress.org blog?
