Moving from wordpress.com to wordpress.org

    Hi.
I have a blog on wordpress.com for almost 2 years already, and I am thinking of moving to a website of my own, on Dreamhost, using wordpress.org, in order to be able to put ads on it, and edit some of the functions of the theme I'm using etc.

I want to "copy-paste" my entire existing blog to its new location - I have more than 100 pages and posts, and hundreds of pictures. Is it possible, is it easy to do, and if so - how is it done?

I also want to redirect from my current blog URL to my new one, so that people who used to follow my blog, and old links to my old blog, will lead directly to my new one. Again - Is it possible, is it easy to do, and if so - how is it done?

  2. You can move your blog content following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org

As for redirecting your blog URL, you'll need to use a Site Redirect upgrade: http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/
