Are you referring to moving to a free hosted WordPress.com blog or are you referring to a WordPress.org install for self hosting? For clarity read > WordPress.com vs WordPress.org: The Differences and note that this support forum is only for free hosted WordPress.com bloggers. If you are referring to a WordPress.org install then you must post ot http://wordpress.org/support/
I would like to move my blog to the WordPress.com free service since I am a pretty casual user. My rural location in the Amazon gives me very limited access to the internet. If possible I'd prefer not to lose the last 1o or so posts I had made on my iWeb blog

If I understand correctly the short answer is "no" I cannot migrate my old blog into wordpress unless I put it first into another blog format such as "blogger" and there is no longer an RSS import.
