Moving to wordpress.org

  1. Hi,
I was just wondering about moving my subscribers from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. The sites in question are http://www.onelifeonewhistler.wordpress.com and http://www.onelifeonewhistler.com.
Is there an easy way to move my email subscribers across?
And I am a bit confused as I thought you couldn't take your wordpress.com "followers" with you but theres a wordpress.com follower stat box.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

The blog I need help with is onelifeonewhistler.wordpress.com.

  2. Anyone know the answer? Thanks

  3. Install JetPack on your wp.org site, then staff can move your followers for you. Do that, then subscribe to this thread so that you'll be notified of a response. The modlook tag will tell staff you need help, so your only job then is to be patient until they get to this ticket.

  4. Ok cool, thanks, Jetpack is installed and ready!!

  5. How do I know if I have submitted the ticket?

  6. If you look to the Tags on this post, you'll see "modlook" and that means it's on staff's radar.

  7. Ah ok awesome. Thank you!

  8. How long does it usually take?

  9. Well, you have to wait till staff are working again. The weekend, clearly, is not a good time. It can take several days.

  10. It's not that obvious raincoaster...the internet is 24/7...I wouldn't keep asking if the information was easy to find...

  11. The majority of WordPress.com Support Staff seem to be living in North America and they do seem to like working during weekday banking hours with every weekend off.

    Support hours http://en.support.wordpress.com/support-options/#support-hours

Staff work their way through threads tagged for their attention like these ones http://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/modlook by dealing with those that have the earliest date and timestamps first, then moving forward to deal with those that have the most recent date and time stamps. Please understand that we Volunteer have no idea when they will appear and how long it will take them to assist the bloggers who posted before you did.

  12. Ok, thank you.

  13. Hi jimbobity.

Your WordPress.com subscribers and email followers have been transferred as requested.

Please note that any WordPress.com followers who opted to receive email updates will need to re-subscribe again on your new site through the Jetpack signup box, otherwise they'll only see new posts in their Reader. Non-WordPress.com email subscribers will continue to get email updates.

Please let me know if you'd also like to transfer your stats to your self-hosted blog.

  14. Hi Jackiedana, Thank you for that.
I would indeed like the stats to be transferred. That would be amazing.

  15. Hi jimbobity,

I've merged your stats for you as well. You should be all set! :)

  16. Thank you very much

  17. You're welcome! Have a great day!
