Moving WordPress.com Blog to Godaddy/Other Hosting

  1. I host a freebie blog here on WordPress.com but want to move it to a paid hosting site using WordPress so I can customize further and work with clients. I keep hearing that Godaddy doesn't work with WordPress installations on Windows machines using blogs from WordPress.com as opposed to .org. I do design and need to be able to work with other clients who are in the same situation. Can someone tell me if I can install WordPress using Godaddy, with a fairly easily installation, or is there an easier way with another hosting provider?

The blog I need help with is spontaneouslysouthern.wordpress.com.

  2. I just realized this is probably in the wrong folder, sorry!

  3. Godaddy does work, but it's awful. Seriously, their customer support is appalling. Look over at WordPress.ORG for hosting suggestions; they have many good ones.

  4. I can personally recommend A Small Orange. I've been using them for years and their service and support is top notch, and their "Tiny" shared hosting package is extremely reasonable.
