The important part is making sure that you have the most recent update of wordpress on your new blog as it has a built in plug-in for this purpose. Hopefully these instructions will be helpful importing wordpress in it is a section on moving between wordpress.com and wordpress.org blogs.

  3. Question: Was it pretty easy to install WordPress on your website? Did you need any special knowledge, or just follow directions? I have a couple of hosted websites, and am thinking of moving to hosting my own, but don't know how complicated it is. Could you tell me more about the complexity and time it took for you to do it?
    Thanks!

  4. Most hosts have some sort of autoinstaller for wordpress and other popular web based programs that you can use. Keeping it up to date is the issue.

  5. Timethief, thanks for the link as it was pretty easy to export/import. Jerry, not all that hard to install. I am new to this application in particular, but most of the time spent was just carefully reading instructions. The documentation within this site is excellent. Actually, I was a little surprised at how easy it really is to install WordPress on my own host.

  6. I'm glad the resource was useful. You're welcome and best wishes. :)
