Multilingual plugins would be great

  1. I'm just setting up a page for a home-run crafts business located in an area half-French, half-English (at the Ontario-Quebec border in Canada). I'd like for my users to be able to easily change languages from French to English. I know wordpress.org has qTranslate and Multilingual press, is there anything available from wordpress.com?

The blog I need help with is tangletugs.wordpress.com.

  2. Ideally, I'd like for the file path to be something like

    myblog.wordpress.com/en/home
    or
    myblog.wordpress.com/fr/accueil

  3. I would like to have multilingual plugin as well!

  4. Hello there,

There is no FTP access to our free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we cannot install plugins. We cannot use Microsoft or Google translation widgets or any other JavaScript widgets, as the code is stripped out to preserve security on this multiuser blogging platform. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/

However, I have translation on my WordPress.com blogs. There are two workarounds and you will find them here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/02/14/translation-widget-for-wordpress-com-blogs/
Note: You can copy and paste the code on my Translations page and then replace every occurrence of my blog's URL in the code with your own blog's URL.
