multiple galleries on a page?

  1. I have a page with over 90 pictures on it. It's running slowly, and I want to know if its possible if I can put them in separate galleries on the page?
    Here is the page: http://imatransplantfromcalifornia.wordpress.com/365-photographs/
Ex: I have 31 pictures from January, I'd like to put them in a gallery. I have 29 from February, and on and on. I'd like them to be like a "monthly" gallery.
So far I haven't been able to figure out if it's possible. HELP!!!

The blog I need help with is imatransplantfromcalifornia.wordpress.com.

  2. Yes this is possible. To have multiple galleires on the same page you will need to attach all of the images to the page first, and then use shortcodes to designate which images you want included in each gallery. http://support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/#gallery-shortcode.
After you upload the images go to to Media > Library, hover over each image name, note its ID number at the end of the info displayed in the status/progress bar of your browser, then go to the page editor, switch to the HTML editor, and use the gallery shortcode image ID number for the images you want to include.

What I would do is create a separate page for each month and turn all those pages into child pages to the 365 Photographs page (page editor > Attributes module > Parent dropdown). Their tabs will show up as a dropdown when you hover over the 365 Photographs page tab in the custom menu.

  3. Ok, I am using the shortcode. However, I want the pictures to be in reverse order. If I write ASC or DESC it doesn't change anything. Is there any way to change that?
