My Comments Showing in Notifications on Admin Bar, etc...

    I saw someone with this same issue earlier this week, but could not find it again to see if there was a solution. This just began happening this morning. I am logged in as the admin to my account when I leave comments on my blog.

    Another strange issue is that I clicked reply to a specific comment and it did not nest below. I just heard from the person I replied to and she said she did not receive the usual notifications in her inbox.

    It seems to be this one post, as I replied to a comment from my today's post and it is nested, but I do not know if they received notification.

    I replied from both the blog itself and from the Comments on my Dashboard I double checked my settings; I have comments nested 5 levels deep.

    Along with this, my comments no longer have the different appearance from the others. They stood out with a different background on my own blog. Not a big deal, I just liked how they looked in my theme. :)

    I had comments turned off for a time, but turned them back on with moderation a week or two ago. Would this effect anything?

    I hope I made sense with these different issues. I tried mentioning all I can think of to help with this.

    I am having the same problem today, have started receiving notifications (orange flat in top right hand corner) ref: my own comments! is there a WP problem today? thanks

    adventureincroatia, Has the notification issue cleared up for you? This was fixed as claimed on another post about this issue, but one person says they still have the problem. The notifications are fixed for me, though.

    My other problems are still occurring, much is just copied from above:

    I noticed some of the comments on this post show Reply and others do not. Here is a link to a specific comment so you can see even though they are on the same "nest", some say reply and others do not.

    Hi birding,

    I hit Reply on one of the comments you made at the link you reference (awaiting moderation), and we'll see if we can track down the exact issue here.

    I do see your comments showing up distinctly from the other comments - has that resolved for you?

    I just looked and now the nice crinkly background appears on my comments. :D Oh, the nesting appears correctly now. I still do not see a Reply under yours, Apronheadlilly's, and my last one.

    I think I just annoyed one of my commenters... I sometimes write comments to include additional info, rather than editing a post. I do not wish to tack them to any other comment as a reply. Today I wrote one of these comments in the form at the bottom of the post and it kept nesting to the above comment. I deleted that comment and tried again. Twice. I refreshed the page after removing the stuff after the main URL.

    Is this part of the same issue with nesting? I guess this is what I get for being lazy to avoid an extra step. :)

    I see what you mean. I wasn't able to replicate this issue on my test site, so would you mind if I post a test comment on your site to see if I can reproduce the issue?

    Scratch my previous comment - I think I've figured it out. :-)

    Your comment that appears nested actually isn't. Have a look at this screenshot to see what I mean:

    Ah! I was looking at where the word "reply" was in relation to the one above, not the edge of the comment. So I didn't bother the commenter above me with the notifications. :) I'll remember that. Thank you.
