My deleted blog is still on the web

  1. I deleted my blog, but still can find it on the web although I can't access it from my dashboard. I have refreshed the page, and cleared the browser cache and cookies. On my dashboard, I have no blog. Yet, I can see my "deleted" blog on the web: http://reactivehypoglycemia.wordpress.com/
    Blog url:

  2. Do you mean through Google? What you might want to try is going into the settings > Privacy > then click 'Ask search engines not to index this site' it will take a while for your blog to disappear off of google, but it should do eventually.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Thank you very much for your reply. I have no blog at the moment. Nothing is my dashboard. I don't know where to find ...settings privacy... to ask search engines not to index this site. I went to Google but didn't know how to find it either. Sorry, I'm not a computer geek for sure! :-) I have the same problem with two blogs I deleted many years ago with blogger. When I put the URLs, I can see my deleted blogs on the web but can't access none of them to remove them from the web. I would greatly appreciate your help to learn how to remove these already DELETED blogs from their URLs. Thanks so much in advance! My blog is http://reactivehypoglycemia.wordpress.com/

  4. Yet, I can see my "deleted" blog on the web:

You might always be able to find it depending on how many times it was cached or archived.

I can still find cache/archive versions of websites that were deleted years ago.

  5. I would greatly appreciate your help to learn how to remove these already DELETED blogs from their URLs.

    You can't.

Even if you could contact the search engine companies directly, I'm not sure they would even try to delete something from their archives.

How long was the site you want removed active?

  6. Maybe a year, but I never posted anything on it. The only post is the word press message:
    Just another WordPress.com site
    Hello world!

  7. OK, so if it doesn't contain any personal or sensitive information, why the need for removal?

  8. It has my name on it... But the two blogs I had with blogger have personal info posted with photos of my husband and me. So, I suppose that I need to think twice before posting personal stuff on the web for now on, if I can't take it back...! Thanks a lot for your time and support.

  9. So, I suppose that I need to think twice before posting personal stuff on the web for now on

    Absolutely.

If you've deleted the information from sources where you have control, all you can do is hope the search engines will drop them eventually. Some of them will attempt to delete information upon request.
