You can set the number of posts that will display on the front page of your blog here > Dashboard > Settings > Reading
look for this:
Blog pages show at most ___ postschange the number and then click "Save Changes"
You can also create static Pages for content that rarely, if ever, changes and use a Pages widget to display links to the ones you create. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
