My follower count and actual number of followers appear to be different?

My site stats show a different number of followers and I get inconsistent notifications when I get new followers.

I’m also having this problem. I get email notifications of new followers, but the total number of followers on my stats page doesn’t change.

I’m also having this problem and have lost almost 1/2 of my followers. I’d like to know if there is a problem and be included on any feedback on how to restore them.
