I was trying to post an image with a caption into my blog today and the 'insert into post' button has disappeared. I can upload a 'featured image' but it appears without a caption.
In fact the entire interface for uploading images has changed.
How do I get my old interface back?

To add an image with a caption to a post, click the "Add Media" button.
Choose an image from your hard drive or the Media Library.
Enter a caption in the field provided, and save your changes.

Please consider adding the "Insert into Post" functionality back to the "set Feature" option- it's now just added steps to what was an leegant process.

First- know that when I select a feature image, I always expected that image to be inserted into the post as well.
Old process:
1) Click "set feature image"
2) Choose file
3) Add caption, title etc as warranted
4) choose justification (left right none etc)
5) Insert into post
New way:
1) "Choose featured Image"
2) Choose File
3) Add caption, title etc as warranted
4) "Update Featured Image"
Then...
5) Click "Add Media"
6) Choose File (Again)
7) choose justification (left right none etc), sizing etc
8) "Insert Into Post"
Steps 5-7 are all duplicates of steps done when adding the featured image.
Twice as many steps including navigating the media library twice, etc.
First- know that when I select a feature image, I always expected that image to be inserted into the post as well.
Ah - that's not usually how featured images are intended to work, since in most cases, this process would result in the same image appearing twice on the page/post in question.
I would be very interested to see an example of where you use this in practice - could I see a couple of links to pages or posts where you've done this? Thanks.
Here's my blog- I've been through maybe three styles in the past year or so and never had the issue of the post showing twice... perhaps just coincident to the styles I used... I understand how trying to manage across the various style sheets can be difficult.
If you scroll down the main page, each image in the summary is, of course, a featured image. Same is true for the featured posts in the feature slider.
Click on any post and you'll see that the featured image only shows once.

Of course, I would use the add media/photo button to add any additional media to a post.
Thanks for this - I see what you mean in your theme. You're very right, in that different themes use the featured image differently.
I will bring this issue to our developers for consideration in a future update.
