My New Blog - Any Suggestions?

  1. Hi everyone! I'm a brand new blogger and thought I'd share my page and welcome any suggestions. Border living is unique if nothing else....

The blog I need help with is borderbarking.com.

  2. I like your writing style. My only suggestion is that your posts are short, and kind of leaves the reader wanting more. Don't know if that is your intention, but I would like to see posts where you fully develop the idea into a longer story.

  3. @borderbarking, as ginzotech ( the American ) say's the post's are to short , search engine's are looking for post's of more than 100+ word's, any smaller they will tend to ignore them.

@ginzotech, you know me in my other being, my photo is up in your comment's:)

  4. Plus you have no tag's in the post's and the post's are not in a category so they will never be found

  5. Thanks guys!

    @borderbarking

I really like your short posts; it's a real discipline to encapsulate a thought-provoking idea or feeling in two or three paragraphs. I like even more the fact that you can spell and use grammar and punctuation correctly. What a breath of fresh air!

I'm as technical as a cream cake, but if it's true about the 100 words thing, then you're OK (your posts are about 150 words?). You do need to sort out the tags and categories things though. See timethief on this:

I look forward to reading more of your stuff.

@ dbennsion, you are wrong in what you said about not needing to add tag's and categorie's to the blog.

What TT meant by this is, if you don't want your blog to be found ( other than keeping it private ) not adding mean's your blog content will not be found by the search engine's, and in turn will not be added to there list's, so will not be found by the mean's of tag's and categorie's on the web search's..

Not categorizing and tagging the content in your blog posts is like purposely playing hide- and- seek with search engines and therefore, making it difficult for their users to find your blog. By organizing your content by categories and tags, you are not only making it easier for your existing readers to navigate through your site, but you are also telling the search engine spiders how to index your blog to bring in

    Hi @dribblingpensioner

Um...I agreed with you re. the tags and categories. I said "you do need to sort out", not "you don't need to sort out".

  11. @ dbennsion, very sorry about that, i thought it read " you do not need to " and i read it twice,:( maybe i'm to old for this now or my mind is going :)

    No prob, Harry.

  13. I'm impressed with your brevity, myself. I am a meanderer and constantly have to pare my posts. I want to read more from you. Subscribed, God help me. I have too many subscriptions! :-)

  14. All great suggestions, guys! I really appreciate it!!

I'm still figuring this whole blog thing out...
