My own domain under WordPress does not work

    I have my own domain venezuelatina.com. It was working with a Blogger blog. I moved the blog content from Blogger to WordPress.com and bought a 10$ right to mapping. I changed the DNS at my registrar and changed the redirection at Blogger.

    On DNSstuff, I got the following:

    Your NS records at your nameservers are:

    ns1.wordpress.com. [72.232.101.25] [TTL=14400]
    ns2.wordpress.com. [208.69.182.198] [TTL=14400]
    ns3.wordpress.com. [72.233.2.19] [TTL=14400]

    Your http://www.venezuelatina.com A record is:

    http://www.venezuelatina.com. CNAME venezuelatina.com. [TTL=14400]
    venezuelatina.com. A 72.232.101.40 [TTL=7200] [US]
    venezuelatina.com. A 72.232.101.42 [TTL=7200] [US]

    which seems to be OK.

    But it doesn't work.

    If I type http://www.venezuelatina.com I got a message of error 404 from Blogger. If I type http://venezuelatina.com, I get a parking page from my registrar.

    What am I doing wrong?
    By the way, I want the http://www.venezuelatina.com link to be working (and not only the http://venezuelatina.com) in order to keep the same URL than under Blogger.

    http://venezuelatina.com is the same thing as http://www.venezuelatina.com in the case of your blog. That's not always true with domain names but in this case it is.

    I get your blog up fine. The issue is it's either your ISP or your computer cacheing your DNS. If you're running a Windows based PC, please open up a command prompt and type the following:

    ipconfig /flushdns

    Also clear our your browser's file and cookie cache and please try again.

    If it still doesn't work, than your ISP is caching your DNS records and you're SOL until they update. That could be anywhere from a couple of hours to months depending on your ISP.

    Maybe it has no provagated through all the DNS servers on the internet? When I try either of the 2 URL's I get your wordpress.com blog. As well, my ping of your site shows it on wordpress.com. I can't remember the commands, but maybe do a search for DNS flush in these forums to dump cached information from your ISP DNS servers. If you did this in the past little while, it should provagate for you right away here, but clearing your DNS cache might help you now. That or renew your IP!

    I performed the DNS Flush trick and cleaned my Firefox history, but it still does not work over here...

    The fact that both of you can see my blog is encouraging. So I deduce that it doesn't work here because the DNS has not propagated yet to all the DNS servers, especially the Venezuelan ones (I'm in Venezuela).

    Better I wait a few more hours to let the Venezuelan servers to wake up!
