    1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

    2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

    3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/

    (a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:
    http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/safari-ipad-clear-cache.htm
    http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/How-To-Clear-Browsing-Data-In-Chrome-For-Ipad_6.htm

    (b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
    http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654

    (c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.

    (d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions

    4. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.

    5. Try using another browser.

    6. If you are not successful let us know:
    (a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
    (b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/
    (c) Exactly what any error reports you receive state.

  5. You are welcome Heartafire. :)

Make sure that you have the latest versions of your other browsers and make sure you separately install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) for each of your other browsers like Internet Explorer, Firefox, et cetera; Google Chrome has a special version of Adobe Flash Player built-into it already, and so you do not have to worry about that for Google Chrome.

    Good luck,
    -John Jr

In this case I'm no longer able to connect with http://shakeyourtailfeathers.wordpress.com/ and I believe your blog may be caught up in the duplicate blog issue Staff are addressing. I'll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Thank you for sharing those extra browser troubleshooting steps :) , I will try to remember to add those steps the next time that I try to help someone with a possible browser issue, but who do I cite/list/credit as the source of that information?

That blog (http://shakeyourtailfeathers.wordpress.com/) is visible for me but yeah, but maybe they will find something.

I am timethief and I'm logged ion under my other username account. I use the same gravatar so that's obvious to others. I am the source of the information above. You can simply direct others to this link http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/reader-malfunction-1?replies=5

  10. Yeah, I know ;) , I just try to use what ever username a person is using at the time or whatever name they sign-off(?) with; but I will try to remember to just use Timethief every time, if you want me to. ;)

Thank you for answering my question and for that link, posting that link will make it easier instead of copying and pasting each time, have a good day Timethief. :)

    You're welcome.

  12. Both of heartafire's blogs appear to be working fine, and there doesn't seem to be a duplicate blog issue at play here.

@heartafire please let me know if this issue continues for you, and if so, which browsers (and versions) you've tried, and exactly what happens when you go to http://wordpress.com/ and if it differs from when you go to https://wordpress.com/ (with https://).

  13. Thank you so must for your response. I am no longer having a problem with the reader. I did switch browsers and that helped, now it appears I am able to access my reader with all browsers.
    My best,
    Heartafire

  14. That's great news. I'm glad it's working for you now.

  15. Thank you so much, it is nice to know you folks are there and reliable to help with issue! <3

  16. Hooray! I love happy endings.

  17. You are welcome Heartafire, and thank you Jackiedana and Timethief. :)
