My share buttons have changed

  1. Why were my share buttons changed at the bottom of my posts? I used to have a facebookk 'like', a 'tweet', and a 'share' on Stumbleupon. Now I have new buttons and the number of tweets, likes and shares are gone - plus, when I click the new twitter button, the link is too long and includes wordpress.com. so it limits my tweets, whereas before, with the tweet button, it was a shortened link. What happened, and can I get my old buttons back?

    Thanks,
    Lisa

  2. OK..no need to respond, I got them back by choosing 'official buttons' next to button type, in the sharing section under settings :)

  3. Yes, indeed they changed for everyone. See here.

  4. Thank you so much, timethief :)

  5. You're welcome and happy blogging! :)

  6. Hmmm, I may be the only one who doesn't like the change. Previously I used the plain text buttons -- not buttons at all, just plain text links -- and I had them carefully formatted using custom CSS. Now the text-only option is gone -- or, at least, replaced with ugly text buttons, and I seem to have lost control over formatting them, or the sharing label. Is it possible to go back to the old plain-text style? Can you control the appearance of the plain text buttons using custom CSS?

  7. @pklein: If you have the Custom Design upgrade, it's probably possible, but I suggest you create a new topic under "CSS Customization".
