My site has disappeared

  1. I completed my blog, uploaded it, made a slight change and then my site has completely disappeared, all I get is what I presume to be html. I saw the site and it was fine, but when I do a search there is nothing - HELP! Have I lost the site completely, I hope not, I really do not want to have to all the work again..........................

The blog I need help with is walthamstowfloralart.wordpress.com.

  2. And what is the URL starting with http:// for this site?

  3. Are you referring to this free hosted WordPress.com blog? http://walthamstowfloralart.wordpress.com/

  4. Yes

  5. This is the login link http://http://walthamstowfloralart.wordpress.com/wp-admin

If you have lost your log-in information you can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

Well this is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?
It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching, or one of the links below, can help.

re: the front page error message

By default the front page of your blog displays all posts. The 404 (page not found) error message on the front page of the blog appeared because the Admin of the blog deleted the placeholder Hello World post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/not-found/ As soon as you publish a post, not a page it will disappear. Read the differences between Pages and Posts.

  6. The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
    Choice 1 static front page
Choice 2 running page for all posts on front page
Which do you choose? It’s one or the other.
If you choose a static front page then you have to create two pages as I said above. After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/
The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page.

  7. I vaguely understand this, but if I have by accident clicked on post rather than pages, how do I get the site back as it was before
