My stats are not working

  1. Good evening

It has been one week since I have received any information on traffic from Facebook on my stats! I always share my blog on facebook and most of my traffic comes from there. For one week now, I have not received any traffic from FB, not one!

Can someone tell me if they are having the same problem or if some settings have been changed and I need to do something to get it back?

    Best regards
    Svava

The blog I need help with is ksvava.wordpress.com.

  2. All of a sudden it works?

    Well thanks :)

  3. Great news! Thanks for sharing it here. Happy blogging. :)

  4. No, too soon...now it doesn´t work again. Just blogged and shared on FB. Alot of people have commented on FB but nothing coming in stats :(

  5. My stats are not working either. I got an email that someone hit the "like" button and my stats are showing up as zero. How can that be?

  6. Please be aware that Likes, follows, shares and reblogs are not page view stats. In fact, likes, shares and reblogs are completely misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can "like", "share" and "reblog" your posts in several locations such as the Reader, without ever clicking into your blog and creating a single page view stat. Comments are gold and likes are as common as grass. That's due to the prevalence of like button spammers who click only to have your readers click back to their profiles and commercial sites.

  7. That´s exactly what I want to know. My stats are showing traffic from Twitter and those who just happen to find my blog, but nothing from Facebook... really weird.

Hasn´t worked for one week, then all of a sudden it worked yesterday and today, nothing :(

  8. @ksvava
Our stats are not real time stats and take time to update. Visitors and views take the longest to update. I'll tag this thread for Staff to take a look at your stats. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  9. Thank you.. I have noticed it takes time.. but for one week, I did not receive one view from Facebook.. but I know most of my friends view my blog from FB when I share it there, but thank you again.. that will make me very happy :)

  10. You're welcome. It's the weekend so please be patient. :)

  11. Hi again

Are there any news of my problem?

    Svava

  12. I don't get it. I'm getting people subscribing to my blog/following me via email, but I have no visitors or views. ?? I don't understand. Makes no sense to me.

  13. @gsiska
Where is the URL for the exact blog in question please?
Why is your username linked to an email address?
We need the URL of the blog in order to help you.

  14. Hi @K Svava - I took a look at your stats and they look entirely normal to me. It looks like you get referrer hits from Facebook mostly on days that you publish, which makes sense, since that's when the posts show up in your followers' Facebook stream.

@gsiska - It's possible for people to follow you and like your post without actually visiting your blog itself. If you would like to increase traffic to your actual site, you might try going to Settings->Reading and pick "Summary" for the "For each article in a feed, show" option. Then your followers will only receive an excerpt in their emails, and they'll have to click through to your blog to read the whole post.

  15. Thank you Eurello. Today my niece signed up to follow my blog...but it didn't register on my stat sheets. Is it only people with gravitars that show up on the stat sheets? I have 4 random people with gravitor accounts that showed up and that's all.

  16. These past few days I only see turning circles where 'my stats' should be. Am I too impatient, or is the system not working?

  17. I registered a new blog follower....my niece who pressed the follow button an hour before I got the confirmation. Now my stats are saying I have one visitor for the day, but 5 views from America and 5 views from Canada. Is it the same visitor? or should I have 2 visitors?

  18. Hi @AntiAging - You can see all of your followers here: https://gundasiska.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=stats&blog=58835985&blog_subscribers

But note that the page that lands on is WordPress.com followers. There's also a link at the top of that screen for "Email-only followers" (people who follow your blog while not logged into a WordPress.com account) and you have one follower in there, probably your niece.

Peter - What browser and version are you using?

  19. Hi Eurello,
I use either GoogleChrome 31.0.1650.57 or Internet Explorer 10.0.9200.16537, both Windows8
    Sincerely,
    Peter

  20. Hi Peter -

And your stats don't load in either browser?

Are you loading them here: http://wordpress.com/my-stats/

    Or here: https://ksvava.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=stats

Do they load, for example, at the second link in Chrome but not in the first link in IE, or does neither link load in either browser?

Can you please make sure you have Javascript enabled in both browsers:

  21. Hi Eurello,
I followed all instructions but there is no change: I see stats but when I click 'show all' the circles keep turning.
I normally load them in my-stats (first link you listed) but the other link doesn't load them either.
JavaScript was already enabled in Chrome. I enabled it in IE.
    Sincerely,
    Peter

  22. Hi Peter - What 'show all' option are you clicking? Do you mean the Summaries links?

Could you please clear your browser cache just to make sure nothing's cacheing?

Are you running any firewalls or third-party security software? If so, would you mind checking with those temporarily disabled?

Also, if you're running and extensions or add-ons with the browser (including and especially ad blockers), please try with those disabled too.

  23. YESS ! Got all of my stats back again.
    Hi Eurello,
When none of your suggestions solved any problems, I tried re-installing GoogleChrome. This finally appeared to be the solution.
Thanks for your patience and support.
    Happy blogging!
    Peter

  24. Hi Peter - Awesome, I'm glad you figured it out! :)

  25. Thank you for all your words of wisdom. As soon as I have time I'm going to read through this and make sure I have installed the programs properly.

    :)

  26. Hey Peter

I am still sure that there is something wrong with my stats. I posted a blog yesterday and only one visitor and none today! If you look at the overview of my stats, there is a huge difference between months. Even those months that I did not blog, I had alot more views then since this problem started to occur. I had 900 views last month and I´ve only had 77 this month. There is something wrong?

  27. Hi @ksvava - I don't think anything is wrong with your stats. I logged out and clicked around on your site and all my clicks were recorded. I agree that your views have declined, though. I looked at some of your October stats, and you used to get a lot of referrals from Facebook and you haven't lately. Do you still post all your new post links on your Facebook page? If not, that would explain why your visits are falling off.

Also, I note that you have your blog set as not to be indexed by search engines. This means your site won't appear in Google, etc. If you wanted to increase your traffic, you could change that here: https://ksvava.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php

  28. Similar things are happening to me. Sometimes, my visitor count will go up, but my view count will not. Other times, a viewer from a new country will be shown on the map, but not in the bar graph. I'm quite confused. Help?

  29. Sorry Sophia and Ksvava, I'm not much of an expert so I'm afraid I can't help you out on this one. Have you tried re-installing your browser yet?

  30. It's on all browsers. My phone, my kindle, my computer, they're all showing the same thing.
