My transferred blog hasn't shown up

The blog I need help with is existentialgardener.wordpress.com.

  2. What do you mean by transferred?
    Transferred from where?
    Transferred how?
Transferred to which blog? What is the URL?
Are your referring to importing content?
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/
Perhaps you are referring to this > http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-posterous/

@timethief transferred: moved from another blog provider to wordpress

    Transferred from typepad to wordpress.
Transferred by using the import blog function similar to the one in the import/import-from-posterious.
Transferred to a blog of the same name but at wordpress; specifically from http://www.existentialgardener.com (or existentialgardener.typepad.com) to existentialgardener.wordpress.com . We own the http://www.existentialgardener.com .
I am referring to importing content, and received messages stating the content had imported, and after a suitable wait the content has not appeared.
Further we have not domain mapped the new blog url to the original url as of yet. Waiting to get this straightened out first.

  4. I'll tag this thread for Staff assistance with your import file. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  5. The name servers for http://www.existentialgardener.com/ seem to be pointing to Godaddy where the name is registered - but opens to a plain white page of size 0kb

http://existentialgardener.typepad.com/ is just a blank white page of size 0kb -

It would seem to me that maybe the blanks pages on the source side need to be addressed first -

Never did a typepad import - is it a file you feed it or a URL at WordPress.COM?

The content was imported on the 16th. I have wordpress reciepts stating the import of the moveable type content was sucessful. The text should have imported at least. The typepad page has since been deleted, but the info is stored.

  7. OK - I would have also thought the text would have came in - @TT flagged this for the staff to help -

The typepad moveable type export function is pointed at an existing blog url, and the web browser/ macro/ internet elves extract the coding and text content as a .txt file and asks if you want to save it. When wordpress is pointed at the file it claims to have been imported.

  9. Hi there - I was able to import your TypePad posts into an empty test blog, so there may have been a glitch on your end during the import.

I've restored the import file to your Media Library in case you no longer have a copy. Would you mind giving it another try? Let me know how it goes.

I tried to import the file again. I got an email that said import was sucessful (again) but after 24 hours, no text. You said the import file has been tucked away in my library, but it seems to be empty. I have tried to save the import file directly to my library, but it will not accept .txt files.

I am uncertain how you got the posts to show up in a whitespace, and I cannot even get it to transfer as a file.

  11. Hi there, I just ran the import for you and it looks like your posts are now there.

Your images did not get imported, and their file paths are still pointing to TypePad. I'll have our developers take a look at this and see if there's anything we can do on that front - I'll keep you posted.

The photos not being there is ok, I assumed I would have to edit and put those in later.

WOW! I just checked it out! I was not expecting the pictures to have shown up already! You are awesome! Thank you!

  14. The photos are displaying, but their paths are still pointing back to TypePad - if you click one, you'll see that the file is still being hosted on TypePad.

Given this, please don't delete your TypePad blog yet, or the images will disappear from your WordPress.com site too!

Our developers will be looking at trying to actually move the images from your TypePad site to your WordPress.com site, to avoid having to do this part manually on your end. I'll let you know when I have more news.

  15. Hi there - our developers have run a script to import all your site's images into your WordPress.com media library, and change the paths to those images so that no images are still referencing your TypePad site.

If you spot any images that still point to your TypePad site, could you please let me know? Thanks!
