When I am editing a page and click on "Visual" I am presented with the same view in the editor as when I select the "HTML" view. This problem appears only to have arisen today - although I have not edited pages on my blog for around a month - previously the visual editor was working fine.
Is this a known problem, or is it peculiar to my blog? How and when can it be fixed?

That sounds like a corrupt cookie or cache entry.
Would you please try clearing your browser's cookies and cache?
