I try adding a contact me page to my blog: http://justmyecho.wordpress.com/
but though it seems to work by adding the code, after I publish it, the code disappears. When I check the page, there is no contact form. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Can you publish the page, error and all, and give us a direct link so we can take a look at it? Are you putting hte code in the visual editor? What is the EXACT code you're using (paste it here between code tags so it shows up).
Adding this simple code in HTML editor works fine for me[contact-form]

I think I got it! The problem was that I was not going into the HTML editor in order to add the form. It works now. Thank you all for the suggestions and thank you raincoaster for the comment re: my blog.
