Need help changing the background color of dropdown menu

  1. I have been successful at changing the rollover color on the menu EXCEPT for the nested catagories that are included in the drop down. They are black. I have looked at the original style sheet but can not find the lines to change. The link to my site is http://www.hrintuitive.com

    Thank you!!

    The blog I need help with is hrintuitive.com.

  2. #access ul ul a {
    background: #CC0000;
    }
  3. YES!!! That did it. You are awesome. Thank you!!!

  4. You are welcome.

  5. I want to do the same thing ... I think.

    I want to be able to put a border around my menu, have a thin divider between each menu item, and change the background color of both the menu and the drop down menu items ...

    here is my site http://www.cakenutrition.com

    but I do not know what to change and I've been messing with css for about 3 hrs now :(

  6. @cakenutrition
    All CSS editing is theme specific. This is a Twenty Ten theme thread and the blog linked to your username is wearing Vigilance. To avoid createing confusion will you please use this link to start your own thread? http://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform

  7. Try this for making the background one color and then the lettering another:

    #access li:hover > a,#access ul ul :hover > a {
    background:#33cccc;
    color:#ffffff;
    }

  8. oh sorry, I'll start a new thread, but for reference and a general question, would I just copy and paste the last post's code into my blank CSS page (I have nothing on my css page yet)?

  9. Yes, just copy the CSS into your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS page.
