Need Help Displaying My Icon In Address Bar.

  1. How do I display my website icon in the address bar on my blog?

I have a site that lets me create code, but don't understand where I'm supposed to paste it on WordPress. It tells me to go to the root of my web folder.

    Here are their instructions:

Add the following HTML code to your web page, in between <head> and </head> tags:
<and then the code goes here>
(I am on a Mac computer, but have access to Windows as well.)

The blog I need help with is luv2byteyou.wordpress.com.

  2. If you're asking about a site hosted on the wordpress.com platform, see:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/blavatars/

Blavatar is a term we came up with by combining Blog and Avatar. Blavatars are used in a number of ways. It will be displayed as the favicon for your blog, which shows up in a browser’s address bar and on browser tabs.

  3. Thanks. I've done that, and cleared cookies and cache, but still don't see it in the address bar. I'll give it a while to see if it works. :)

  4. Yep, you just gotta wait it out at this point. It's totally normal for it to take up to a day or two.

  5. It tells me to go to the root of my web folder

Those instructions are for bloggers who have WordPress.org sites. They do not apply to those who have WordPress.com blogs. Your blavatar (favicon) is already displaying here http://luv2byteyou.wordpress.com/ so I assume the issue is resolved.. In the future note that the only support documentation that applies to your free hoste WordPress.com blog is found here http://en.support.wordpress.com
