Need Help Making Changes to Sidebar Search Widget

  1. Hello again.

As the title says, I'm trying to make a couple of nitpicky changes to the search widget in the sidebar.

    1. Change the text..."Search ..." to just "Search"

    2. Have it so that when you click on the search widget, the text "Search" disappears. Currently, it doesn't...and only disappears when you start typing

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is bayareathrowbacktheater.com.

  2. Tough one, huh?

I'm still trying to figure it out.

  3. Regarding my second question, I just noticed that the text "Search ..." disappears when clicked on in Safari...but not Chrome...so it's apparently a browser issue.

Still, however, trying to figure out how to change the placeholder text "Search ..." to something else.

    Anybody?

    Thanks.

  4. Hi cinemunkie, I'm sorry but that one is not something you can change with CSS! It's a CSS limitation.

I researched and the closest I could find was how to change the style of input field placeholders with CSS. Here's what I found:

  5. Thanks, designsimply!

    Worked like a charm. :)
