Need Help with Fresh & Easy Theme

  1. I recently purchased the $30 WordPress.com upgrade so I could make some slight changes to my blog using the Fresh & Easy theme. I'm somewhat familiar with CSS and after a few minor tweaks I was able to add a custom header and change the link colors of the theme but now my slider image isn't working properly. The number links don't show up in the small boxes that work in conjunction with the slider. I've tried numerous fixes (including removing all the additional CSS I added) but I can't solve the problem. Can anyone lend me a hand or let me know what I'm doing wrong? I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is midcenturyliving.wordpress.com.

  2. Did you mean Fresh & Clean Theme? I've been searching and didn't see any theme with that name :|

  3. Yes. My mistake. The theme is called "Fresh & Clean."

    Fresh & Clean is a free theme for free hosted WordPress.com bloggers. > Apearance > Themes

    The theme already has a custom header: Make Fresh & Clean reflect your uniqueness with your own Header (Appearance → Header) http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-header-image/

    Only Staff help with CSS editing these days and you may have to wait until March 6th for their help.

  5. Thanks, timetheif! I was aware of all those links but I'll do a more thorough search of the forum now and try and look for answers there. I searched earlier but didn't find anything and I didn't realize the staff was gone until March 6th.

    Oddly enough, I just took a look at my blog using my Kindle and the numbered links seem to work there but they don't show up on my computer browsers. I've checked my blog on Firefox as well as Safari and the numbers aren't visible on my computer, which seems strange.

  6. @cinebeats
    Hi again,
    I'm using Firefox 10.0.2 and the numbers (links) aren't visible or active in your slider.

  7. What you've done wrong is that you've pasted the entire stylesheet of the theme in the CSS editor. You must delete everything and add only the changes you make.

  8. Thanks so much for the help!

    I followed justpi's advice and made the proper changes. Now the theme is working perfectly. Thanks again!!

  9. what;s the css code for adding an automated slider and related posts section under each post?

    i have something like:

    /* ---------------------- Related Posts -------------------------- */
    #related-posts{margin:15px 0 0;padding:15px 0 0;border-top:1px solid #EEE}
    #related-posts img{float:left; margin:0 15px 10px 0}
    #related-posts a:hover img{-ms-filter:"progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=70)"; filter:alpha(opacity=70); -moz-opacity:0.7; -khtml-opacity:0.7; opacity:0.7}
    #related-posts ul{list-style:none}
    #related-posts li{margin:0 0 20px 0}

    #related-posts h3{font-size:12px; margin:0 0 5px}
    #related-posts h4{font-size:18px; margin:0 0 20px}

    which is not working obviously. also for this theme.
    thank you

  10. You cannot add content sections using CSS, the Custom Design upgrade here at WordPress.com will only let you modify the look of already existing content.

    If you have additional questions, could you start a new thread instead of posting at the bottom of other threads? http://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform
