Hello all,
I was wondering if you could help me at all?
My site - http://limebirduk.wordpress.com/ has widgets in footer right and footer left. It all looks a bit cluttered, so I was wondering if there is any way to put some up on the right/ left hand side at all?

This could be done, but it would require the custom design upgrade and modifications to the CSS in order to do it.

Oh right, that sounds complicated and I'm guessing you have to pay for that?

You are welcome, and yes, the custom design upgrade is $30 per year.
With only two widget areas stretching across the bottom anything that is narrow, such as the facebook like box or the stats widget is going to look bad. There really isn't much way around that I'm afraid. It would actually be better if their were three widget areas at the bottom because it would make all of them narrower.
Oh no, that's a shame. I'm not sure if it's worth me paying that money just for widgets!
Hmm, maybe I'll do a bit of rejigging to see what I can do!
