Neo-Sapien Sidebar 1--having issues w/ widgets.

  1. Hello!!
    My blog Phantasma--which is really just an online journal, but I hope to make it famous--is in the Neo-Sapien theme, which I love to bits. BUT--I cannot put any widgets in Sidebar 1. If I try, the title of the blog is covered up by the widget. After much experimentation, I still can't figure it out...
    I know it would be easier to use just sidebars 2 and 3, but I don't want the page to look too lopsided. Even though it already does, kinda...lol.
    Thank you!!! :}

    The blog I need help with is annelessing.wordpress.com.

  2. Umm, I'm not seeing any of the sidebars overlapping anything on your blog, and since the theme you are using does not display the blog title in the header, I'm unsure of what you are seeing or what exactly you are talking about.

  3. Well, I didn't mean that anything was overlapping...yeah, I wasn't being too clear. At the top of sidebar one is the little box with the title and the "mission statement" of the blog. If I try to put any widgets in sidebar one, that box is covered up. I've changed it so that you can see what I'm talking about.

    Thanks for your help, by the way!!

  4. Every theme has a default display of widgets. As soon as you go here ->Appearance ->Widgets your choices of widgets override the default display. Could this be what you are referring to?

  5. Not exactly. I know how to use widgets, but the problem is that the widget covers up completely the title box.

    Come to think of it...is there a widget that displays your blog's title and "statement" for Neo-Sapien?

  6. OK, since you have not actually added any widgets to the left sidebar, what you are seeing at the top of that sidebar is a theme-generated title widget, and as Timethief points out, once you add any widget to the sidebar, the default sample set in that sidebar will disappear.

    All you have to do is to create your own title/description widget using a text widget and put it into that sidebar at the top.

  7. OOHHHH!! Thank you! It worked!! And it looks much better than before. In the default, it was red and grey, and now, the text is all red, which I like better. :D
    Thank you so much!!!!!

  8. You're welcome.
