New blog doesn't show up on Google!

    Hey Y'all...

    Could someone help me out? I'm in the process of creating a new blog. When I'm logged on, the address that appears in the search window is "theechojournal.wordpress.com. But when I type that into a google search, nothing comes up. Or at least my blog doesn't.

    When I set up the blog initially, I was asked for both a personal password and then an access password for the blog, which I put in because I wanted to limit access. Could that be the problem? In the Privacy Tab I selected the option to make the blog public...but I'm wondering if that decision to enter an access password is somehow keeping me out. And for the life of me, I can't find a page where I can view or change that 2nd password that applies specifically to this blog.

    Does anyone know what the pitfalls might be? Like I said, I've already selected and saved the option to make the blog visible to google etc.

    The blog I need help with is theechojournal.wordpress.com.

    This is more to do with Google and how its engine works. Google probably just hasn't gotten its search bots (aka crawlers) to your page yet, and therefore it won't appear in the search results yet.

    Over time, it will appear, but if, as you say, the blog is new, Google just hasn't caught up with it yet. Google is fast, but not that fast.

    Google can take up to six weeks to index a new blog. The more original content you post to it, the faster it happens.

    Submit each post to:

    http://blogsearch.google.com/ping

    http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/ping

    Go to Google and research on how to get your blog more exposure.

    Just because you write doesn't mean you will get Google attention.

    Make them come to you.
