Yeah, the way I look at it is you should be proud if your military spouse does well in his/her career and moves up the ranks, but don't let it define your social life...let alone your attitude!
Social climbers only exist in America? Ever read Vanity Fair? ;-)
I'm looking forward to reading more! I'm not in the military or married to a service member, but I've worked for the DoD as a contractor for the last 3 1/2 years. It's always interesting to get the family members view point! Will definitely subscribe to your RSS.

facebook works, but it is nerve-racking the first time. Will they like it? Will they hate it? Will they ignore it? Will they keep reading? The answers, of course, are yes, yes, yes, and yes. :-)
I started out automatically posting to facebook. I've found that I either get "likes" or positive comments. From the analytics I can see that people are being driven to read it from there, but not necessarily responding there. However, if you want to spark a discussion, it's definitely a good place to start. Plus, facebook is usually full of your supporters (friends and family), so it's as good a place as any to get people reading, responding and giving constructive criticism if that's what you want!
