I've added a new page to my blog, added a link (using the link button), hit update, but page 'Select Nonsense' will not display the link. It's a link back to an earlier post. I'm hoping to add 3 or 4 older pages on this page.
I've cleared out my browser cache, using Chrome, and tried both the normal link and the short link.

Are you willing to try another browser like Fireox 10.0.1 so we can determine if this is a Chrome issue or not?
Your link isn't showing up because you didn't enter any text. If you switch the editor to HTML you'll see this:
<a href="http://theuglymoose.wordpress.com/2012/01/13/" title="The Cripple and the Genie"></a>
Should be this:
<a href="http://theuglymoose.wordpress.com/2012/01/13/" title="The Cripple and the Genie">LINKING TEXT HERE</a>
Normally to add a link you type that text first, select it, click the Link tool, paste the URL, click Add Link.
