New service for WordPress.com users: Plinky.com

    Hi, I'm Jason Shellen founder of Plinky.com. A few years ago I was a part of the team that brought you Blogger.com then joined Google and helped create something called Google Reader which some of you may use. But I decided to get back to my roots and create something fun to use with your favorite blogging tool, WordPress and it's called Plinky.

    Plinky makes it easy for you to create inspired content. Every day we provide a prompt (i.e. a question or challenge) and you answer. We make it simple to add rich media and share your answers on WP (or Twitter and a few other sites). It's like a question of the day, but with more to it than that.

    Jason,

    Sounds like a good idea, but when I tried to create an account I kept getting caught in a loop - I chose a username/password, jumped through all the hoops, then got a "Dang It" message - tried again, then was told the username I'd just chosen was already in use, would I like to try another. Tried another, it was available, so I used it, but then when I tried to log in again got the "username already in use" message. Bottom line, I tried hard to get in to be a part of the service, but nothing worked.

    This is enough to discourage me from using the service, and probably would discourage others too.

    Had the same issue as karonsplace and talkingtostones. Already tried three times because it sounded like a great idea, but apparently you guys still have to work out some serious kinks.

    Wow, just seeing this now. We did push some changes late last week and I'm wondering if we broke something... many apologies. We hope you try back sometime late tomorrow.

    i just added the wp service to my plinky account. very cool. any plans for supporting Windows Live?

    I liked it as well. It's simple, a little weird, and fits in well with the groove of my site.
