New Stats page.

  1. So, as they say "Thanks for flying with WordPress.com"
    Flying it is indeed.
Just curious, what's the new change meant to improve?

The blog I need help with is usyaka.wordpress.com.

  2. We Volunteers have no answers to questions like these. It appears an effort is being made to move our features and functions to the WordPress.com home page. Only Staff know why this repositioning is being undertaken, what purposes the repositioning are designed to achieve, and who stands to benefit from them. As we are free riders on this WordPress.com bus we aren't consulted prior to any changed being made and the likelihood that we ever will be appears to be dim. Here's the contact link to Staff.

  3. Don't like the new stats page - the previous one was easier to operate and get to other admin pages from...why oh why do WP do this all the time.

  4. Just speculation: It's meant to pay off for WP.com itself somehow, probably as an SEO bonus for the WordPress.com main page.

Believe me, I'm no fan of it and there's a major rant on the way about this.

This is WORSE than when they took the New Post button away. "Look, we're making it easier! You don't have all that icky blogging functionality cluttering up your dashboard! Isn't it awesome?"

    No, it is not awesome.

That said, I know that venting in the forums about this is unproductive, but I doubt they'll ever approve teh comment I put on the actual blog post about it.

I'm stuck here in the middle of nowhere with a dodgy satellite link and now I have to do twice as much faffing about to get to my dashboard or view my comments. How can removing links off a page make it more 'user friendly' ???

  6. Love Raincoaster's rant, just for the record. You can find it in the "Today I posted" thread in Off Topic.

Don't love the stats change :(

  7. Ditto, jobryantnz. The new Stats Page look is clumsy and the definitions between "Today" and "Yesterday" tabs is hard to see.

Also, there's no Dashboard nav-bar on the left, as with the previous format.

I can still access the old Stats Page by clicking on "Site Stats" on the Dashboard. Other links take me to the new version.

I hope the Administrators of WordPress stop fooling around with these changes. Or at the very least, give us "Like" and "Dislike" buttons that we can click on to gauge our opinions.

Personally, I dislike the new format. It is not user-friendly and not well designed. *thumbs down*

  8. timethief - thanks for that link. I've left them a message.

  9. Also don't like how they took away the highlight of your strongest month/day...small feature but I always liked it.

  10. It looks nice, but it can't be copied. I cannot take thew results to a Word.doc, for instance, which is what I normally do to see what the stats mean.
However, if you wait around a little, it goes back to status quo.

  11. Like-no-like buttons: fmacskasy, that is a FABULOUS idea. Give us a way to provide feedback right there, about specific features! I do not like the new stats, for all the reasons mentioned.

If this is not changed back I am leaving WordPress, period.

    This is absolute rubbish.
