New users can't login

  1. I teach junior high, and I have invited my 8th grade students to join a blog so we can discuss literature on line. But some of the students accidentally ceated their own blog instead of joining mine. Now they can't login to my blog, even though they accepted the invitation and activated their account. They have a wordpress account, but when we type in my blog address + login, they get a page that says "[login name].wordpress.com doesn't exist." How can I get these kids on to our blog?

The blog I need help with is room25readers.wordpress.com.

  2. Hello there,
Please post the complete URL for the blog in question starting with http:// If you prefer you can link the blog to your username for ease of location. Here’s how to link your username to your blog in your blog Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog starting and then save changes.

Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

  3. The blog that my students are supposed to join is http://room25readers.wordpress.com/. The blog linked to my username is a different one.
So how do I get them on my blog if they activated their WP account, but then created their own blog instead of joining mine?

  4. You'll need to add their WordPress.com usernames to the list of approved users at Settings -> Privacy in your Dashboard.
