New WordPress Post not Updating to Linkedin

  1. I added the following post to my blog on WordPress over 24 hours ago. It appears on WordPress but never made it to my Linkedin site. The original post updated to Linkedin almost immediately. This update never made it. I should point out that this Post contains a YouTube video. It loaded just fine to WordPress:

    Any help would be appreciated.

The blog I need help with is citisites.wordpress.com.

  2. I'm confused: you seem to have only the one post. Updates to existing posts do not go out on RSS feeds, to avoid annoying your subscribers. Sometimes I'll edit a post 6 times, and if my readers got pinged every time or my Facebook or LinkedIn pages got updated every time, it would just be too darn much noise.

Only the first version of the post goes out on the RSS feed to existing subscribers including the blog importation apps on Facebook, LinkedIn and so on. I don't know any way around this.

  3. Understood. Thank you.

  4. About 8 hours ago took your advise and created a second post. Still does not appear at my linkedin site. Here is the new post address. Again, my first post linked almost immediately:

New Post that is not linking: http://asfriedman.wordpress.com/

Old Post that linked perfectly: http://allenfriedman.wordpress.com/2010/01/25/hello-world/

Any further assistance would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Allen

  5. Those are two different blogs. Are they both registered at LinkedIn, and have both got RSS feeds enabled?

  6. I am so new at this. For some reason, the first blog showed up on linkedin automatically, without my doing anything. I'll figure it out. Maybe it's just the YouTube link messing things up?

  7. You had to have done something to connect the first blog to LinkedIn. There's a blog importation tool you had to register it with, for instance. Or put in the RSS feed.

  8. Wait; you know, you could be right. YouTube videos are not included (not even VISIBLE) in RSS feeds from WordPress.com. Since you don't have any content other than the video, I'd advise you to post text along with your videos in future.

And also go to your Settings and ensure you've got things set so it's Visible to Search Engines, etc, otherwise your RSS feed will not work.

  9. Will try adding content in addition to the video. Nothing else seems to work.

  10. lol ... writing content ... hmmm ... I think that's what a blog is for :D

  11. Be nice. Was a Today Show Segment that speaks for itself. Anyhow . . . still not working : (

  12. I was trying to add some dry humor and I'm sorry if I failed.

The good news is that your blog's RSS feed is working correctly http://ismyblogworking.com/asfriedman.wordpress.com

The bottom line here is that yours is not a wordpress.com problem. Hopefully, someone may come up with another solution for you.

  13. I just remebered something that may be workable for you.

As with Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, you can schedule and cross-post content to multiple WordPress accounts. There is also a Home Feed for blogs you are following, as well as the ability to reblog posts you think are noteworthy. http://blog.hootsuite.com/how-to-use-wordpress-with-hootsuite/
