Yesterday was my first day "here".
I've figured out the basics of the site...
Though I cannot seem to figure out how to "make friends" or find other peoples blogs to wander to.
It's pretty lonesome when you can't figure it out. Feels like I'm writing to a journal with changeable backgrounds.
What else is there to do on this site?
The blog I need help with is kristinaring.wordpress.com.
Promoting your blog effectively both within and without the wordpress.com community takes time and energy. There is no passive way to do this.
My advice is to set up Sharing options on your blog so they appear on each post and your readers can use them to share your posts on Twitter, Facebook, etc.

The next steps are all very active steps and as you underatke them remeber that if you comment, comment, comment on similar blogs in the same niche you will generate some traffic to your own blog. If you sit and wait then your blog will only get a trickle of traffic.

I suggest you take a look at the Forum and participate in the conversations you find relevant. It helps you to observe experienced bloggers and how they interact with the "community". You can learn a lot from them....
