Newbie - cpanel & wordpress

  1. Hi All, am very new to all this so I will give as much information as I can. I have recently been asked to update our local football club website. The only program I am familiar with is WordPress. The fella gave me login details for cPanel so within it I installed WordPress - just under the public_html folder. I created an SQL database and changed the details within the config.php file. Again being new to this I dont even know if what I have done is right as I have no knowledge of the ins and outs of it all. I am able to log into WordPress but this is where the problem arises. If I create a new post of new page, etc and click to view the changes it does bring me to the club website but obviously no changes are implements. I would really appreciated some help with this as I have had the details now for almost a week and have made no progress, despite hours of trawling the internet for help.

  2. You need to post to the correct support forum. We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.com blogs here and that's not what you are describing. Support for your WordPress.ORG install is provided on the WordPress.ORG support forums and they are here http://wordpress.org/support/ If you don't have a username account at WordPress.org, click that link and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the correct support forums for your software.

  3. OK, thank you!

  4. Good Morning, my webdesigner has requested that I provide her my cPanel details for my wordpress site. I'm able to get to my dashboard but from there unsure of how to access my cPanel. I no longer have the initial welcome email so unfortunately I'm lost from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  5. As TT said above:

  6. Thank you for your quick response. I'm still a little confused as my site is a free hosted site and is a .net, however I will check out the forum you referred me to.
