Newbie needs basic plug-in help fast

    Hi all, I'm sure there's an answer staring me in the face, but I can not find plugins on my admin page. The last listing on Dashboard (which I believe is the same as the admin panel?) is Settings, not plugins. Can someone help me find this?

    Second, I'm trying to shorten my blog entries (read more, etc) Do I need a plug-in for that, or can I use a widget? Is there a general HTML bit of code I can add to each post for this? I don't know code but I'm great at cutting & pasting. :-) I appreciate any help!

    The blog I need help with is canyouhelpmeimlost.wordpress.com.

    a) Plugins are for self-hosted blogs - wp.com blogs don't support plugins. What exactly are you looking for? There might be other ways of doing it.
