News Sources?

  1. This may seem like a oddball question. But I'm a bit new and I could any and all help I can get. (just ask my mom! *chuckle*)

I am looking for a general news service, that looks up blogs to see what's being discussed.

I already know about http://www.memeorandum.com which does Political news
I already know about http://www.techmeme.com/ which does tech stuff
I already know about http://www.wesmirch.com/ which does Celeberity gossip

and I already know about digg...

and I already know about reddit

My question is is there a place, I saw one once, I just cannot remember the URL. that keep track of what's popular in the blogging world, and who's talking about it? kinda like memeorandum but for more world news/news in general? headlines, plus what the blogs are saying about it?

What I want, is my blog to be a general news/gossip/politics/general crap kinda blog. (I ain't women's stuff sorry!)

    Anyone?

Thanks, I've known about technorati for a while now, in fact, I generate tags for it on all my posts usually, my biggest gripe with Technorati is that it's laid out like a jumbled up crossword puzzle to me. and it's rather involved. (I don't know of that makes any sense to you...but...) Maybe I'm just weird. But that's my feelings on it.

    Anyways... thanks for your help.

  4. I get a lot of info from USToday's News from the states page if that helps at all. Most of what's in there makes good blogging fodder.

  5. I get alot of hits from - http://www.topix.net/

  6. nosy, do you get any from a Lipstick? someone's submitted a couple of your posts out there.

  7. Cool. Lipstick is done by the guys who do Reddit.

I can log in with my Reddit account :)

  8. yeah, this a result of the aftermath Aaron has made after Reddit has been acquired by the CondéNet Inc., which is a really exciting success story of 'not a bug' guys.

here another nice one: Y Combinator Startup News (reddit logins are not supported though).

  9. I should get back to reading Aaron's blog. I stopped for a while because I found I kept skipping it in my feed reader.
