No control over images displayed in onswipe Ipad Theme

  1. I would like to request that WordPress add something to the Ipad theme to give me the blogger the choice as to what images are displayed when this theme comes up. Yesterday looking at my blog on my Ipad I noticed that one of the posts has an image that I uploaded and is attached to the post in the library but I removed from the post itself. I don't know how you have managed to do this. Sometimes the images you 'choose' are fine, othertimes you choose an image at random. Surely if I have selected a featured image as a header or something like that it should be the one that appears on the Ipad too? You are taking away my editorial control by doing this and it is disappointing to say the least.

    Kind regards, Joanna

The blog I need help with is zebbakes.com.

  2. I have uploaded an image here for you to see what I am talking about. The post Wild about Cracking Nuts has an image associated with it which is not published in the post but is attached in the Media Library. It looks dreadful the way you have done it. Ditto I would not have chosen the image for the gluten free bread post had I had the choice.

Could you also please put the return to ipad view button somewhere other than at the very bottom of the screen, I had to scroll for ages to get to it. Thanks for any help in advance. Joanna

  3. Hi Joanna,
We Volunteers can help with this so I have flagged this thread for Staff attention.

  4. oops! "can " was meant to be "can't"

  5. The theme currently tries to pick the clearest photo of the bunch (so you don't wind up with a smaller photo expanded into a blurred mess), but we'll definitely consider adding more control to this.

  6. Thanks for replying but you haven't answered my main query which is how does the theme use an image that isn't in the post?

I think I will switch off the onswipe option all together and wait to see if WordPress brings out an improved version at some point. I have yet to see someone's blog look good this way, the more people customize their blogs the harder it is for the onswipe theme to make them look good, particularly if you have small photos or images in your posts where it just distorts them to fit and they look dreadful.

  7. That is a good question. It does try to fill each spot with an image, and maybe it tries a little bit too hard. I'll pass it on for further investigation.
