No Site Stats, Reader, explore topics show - only loading

    Two hours out of my day - gosh this is frustrating. I'm using Twenty Ten Theme

    I am unable to load site stats, reader, explore topics, etc. I receive loading and nothing loads.

    I have Windows XP, internet explorer 8 version.

    Following WordPress instructions I've deleted all cookies and cashe, went into suggested tools to add *.wordpress.com as a trusted site and did all the receommendations. Nothing has resolved the issue. Is anyone else having the same problem? Can someone assist to resolve this?

    I am unable to use this aspect of wordpress. Didn't have the problem yesterday. Thanks, Mary

    The problem is continuing. Although the only thing that does come up is the "Freshly Pressed" page - why is that? All else fails to load.

    I went to another computer and logged in and the same thing is happening - nothing loads on the front wordpress page.

    (1) How are are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com?

    I'm asking because the way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers.

    (2) Are you logging in using the secure https:// log-in? see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

    (3) If you can upgrade your browser version to IE9 have you tried doing that here? http://browsehappy.com

    Hi timethief: Thanks for responding.

    I connect to the interest via DSL (verizon).

    I don't use touch devices w/tablets and smartphones (don't own any).

    I went in and did the #2 recommended secure https://

    I've tried to upgrade my browser to version IE9 several times over the last two months, they say that Windows XP cannot be upgraded to IE9.

    Why would it work yesterday, and previous days since I started my blog, but not today. Would WordPress have done something?

    I'm on windows XP too and I can't upgrade to IE9 but that doesn't matter to me as I use Firefox. If you are willing to try using Firefox 15 you can download it at that same link http://browserhappy.com

    I get anxious when playing around with my browser but, I'm willing to give this a try and see what happens.

    Will let you know if I encounter a crash and burn @@@@@@@@@

    Thanks timethief - Firefox 15 works fine. Over time I'll learn how to use it - for now it will be used for wordpress.

    Hi Mary,
    I'm happy to hear you successfully downloaded Firefox 15 and your issue is resolved. I like Firefox far better that IE and maybe that will be your response to using it after awhile too. Happy blogging!

    Hi Timethief: I'm right with you on this one - I've noticed a huge difference since using Firefox 15. Not sure if I'll ever use IE again.
