Non-scrolling themes

  1. Hi
I don't know what this feature/design is called, but I've seen some amazing pdf's that require no scrolling - the bottom/top right of each page lets me click to the next page, and I visually see a page turn, and hear a page-turning sound. It looks like a book, and the feel is quite different than normal reading online -- it feels like reading a publication.
Is there anything out there that enables that kind of user experience in html rather than pdf? Do any of these exist as websites (or, blue-sky, blog templates) where hyperlinks are enabled in that kind of design, where video can be enabled etc.?
How far from possible would it be to have a function/feature/theme like this for a blog?
    I'm bored of scrolling.
    Thanks for any thoughts/ideas/leads etc.
    Lisa

The blog I need help with is lmighton.wordpress.com.

  2. One quick clarification -- I know that I can choose to shorten what's on my blog, so that visitors don't have to scroll. But I'm looking for that 'hey, this is cool, it feels kinda like I'm reading a magazine/publication. What about just adding a feature option for themes that sees a visual 'page' turning, and a page sound?

  5. You can make a post take up multiple pages using "nextpage" as shown below if that's helpful.

  6. Scrolling or not scrolling is always going to boil down to the screen resolution your visitor has set unless you size everything for the lowest common denominator, which would be one of the small netbooks which have a 640 x 480 resolution. So, you would have to size for that smaller height of 480px. This is what your blog would look like on a small netbook.

  7. Sorry, that should have been 800 x 480, so the image would be a little wider, but not longer.

  8. Thread moved to themes forum as requested...
