Not enough customization on my pages; How to import a design from Word

  1. On my company's wordpress site (not associated with my username), I'm very limited in the design choices for my content. I cant really change the font (except the to make something a heading), I can't change text color or size, and I can't easily control where images on the page appear. I used Word to create what I want one of my pages to look like, so I'm wondering how I can transfer this onto my wordpress. Pasting from word looses all the formatting on the text and I can't get the SmartArt I created to transfer at all.

If I save the word doc as a webpage, can I do something with it? I know I can embed a word doc but I don't want people to have to follow a second link to access the content.

    Help appreciated! Thanks!
