not paying fee for renewal

  1. I will not be paying a late renewal fee... I was not notified in advance that I would need to. I will pay the normal renewal rate.

The blog I need help with is bodiesbyball.com.

  2. We volunteers cannot help you with that. I'll modlook this topic for staff attention. Please subscribe to this topic so you'll be notified when there is a reply.

  3. Your domain bodiesbyball.com expired on 2013-01-22. Before it expired, we sent email warnings and displayed notifications on your dashboard.

Domain expiration is a lengthy and complicated process that takes about 80 days. During this time, your domain may be put up for auction or sold on back-order. You can learn more about expired domains here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/

The good news is that you can still recover your domain, as it has not yet been deleted or purchased by someone else. A late renewal fee of $80 will be added to the regular price of renewal.

You can renew this domain and manage all your other upgrades under Store > My Upgrades in your dashboard.

  4. I was NEVER told in advance there would be a fee.
I will not be paying it... Not even considering it. It's ridiculous. I want my domain with another web developing company. Word Press doesn't even have human beings to speak to about this matter. Sell off my domain and I will check every day through another group and snag it back the second it is available. Word Press is incompetent and has zero customer service. Since this matter isn't going to be resolved... I will be cancelling other sites I have with WordPress and advising all the people I know against using your services.

  5. Howdy, I get that you are frustrated. I'm sorry, I cannot waive the late renewal fee. We do mention the $80 late fee on the domain expiration page: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/

That page also mentions what happens once your domain expires. I don't recommend letting a domain lapse if you want to keep it, for the following reasons:

    * Domain expirations don't happen immediately. Registrars have a grace period to give you, the owner, the chance to renew.

    * Once that grace period is up, there is a good chance that the domain could get purchased by someone else before you have a chance to re-register it, in the hopes that they can charge you more to get the domain back.

  6. This outrageously high fee is retarded. I never received any emails or notifications either and will join bodiesbyball on a wordpress egress.

  7. Exactly!! It may start with two customers... but we can get several to leave!! I will be sure to post on several forums and public pages about their deceiving manner of getting money from clients.
    It's an Absolute disgrace
