Not using rel="nofollow" in comment

  1. The rel="nofollow" attribute is added by default to URLs in comments. And it doesn't go off even when deleted. So if I do want to endorse the site, what do I do?

  2. There is no way to disable rel=nofollow here at wordpress.com and in default instalations of wordpress.org

For wordpress.org onlym you could install a plugin like this one, it removes the nofollow from comments after sometime.

  3. Sorry situation. Thanks for clearing this.

  4. We need a movement against the nofollow tag! But please comment on the earlier post "nofollow" tag. (Its not by me.)

  5. There's been some discussion of this over at wordpress.org and among the developers about removing it from the regular wordpress core.

    http://trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3842

I'm not sure where the developers are standing on the issue although I note a couple of other tickets on simular issues where Matt has closed them with 'wontfix'.

In my opinion, I like the idea for the regular wordpress platform (I removed the code from my own old wordpress installs and provide a plugin to my clients) but I would hate to see it here at wordpress.com. Floating around, I'm seeing a lot of comments where I know the blogger is going into the Akismet queue, unmarking spam and getting them out onto the blog.
