# of email followers suddenly dropped drastically yesterday

    I noticed it right after the upgrade, when there were some other issues (like the number of Facebook shares not showing). The other issues seem to be resolved but my number of email followers did not go back to its original number. There have been 6 new followers today so I know the number is increasing again but want to know what happened to the hundreds and hundreds that disappeared? Anyone else have this problem?

    The blog I need help with is momopolize.com.

    Could you be more specific about what the upgrade was that you're referring to? And could you also let me know a ballpark figure of your email followers / total followers?

    And could you confirm your blog URL?

    Hi Zandyring, Thanks for responding. I noticed it right after the wordpress.com admin pages appeared to have some changes made to them so I assumed there had been some kind of update/system change. Last I checked the # of email followers it was just under 900 and it suddenly dropped to 400 (it is at 411 right now). The blog URL is http://www.momopolize.com

    Hi Angela,

    One last request (there's always one last request!) can you take a screenshot of where you're seeing that stat and upload it to your media gallery? I'll be able to check it there. It'll just make sure I see exactly what you see.

    Hi Zandyring, I just uploaded the screenshot. The number I'm looking at is the "follow by email" widget. The number of followers is currently showing as 420 (when there was the drastic drop, it was 400). It had been just under 900 before the drop.

    A first run answer is that your actual email followers who are WP.com users (that we can track) are shown here:
    http://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/?blog_subscribers

    You can see that your WP.com email subscribers number is pretty different from your total!

    The stats you are looking at includes your non-WP.com subscribers - no change was made to your blog ID (which is what would "shake off" any email subscribers). So we're continuing to look at this and see where things may lay.

    Any new information regarding this issue? I'm concerned that almost 500 of my email subscribers just disappeared. I hope it is something that can be resolved/they can be retrieved.

    Hi there,

    I'm still getting some answers internally! :)

    Do you happen to know about how many WordPress.com-specific followers you had vs. Facebook or Twitter followers? It'll help to finish up this troubleshooting, but I understand if you don't know the breakdown exactly.

    Could you give us any details about the types of changes you're referring to?

    Also, the # of Facebook shares hasn't been showing on my recent posts. Do you know how I can fix that?

    Could you please show us a post that you know was shared on Facebook, as well as a link to the Facebook page where it was shared, so we can take a look? Thanks.

    I can't remember what the exact changes were, but I remember the blog admin pages looked different that day. Perhaps it was when the page views changed to show visitors vs. views? I'm really not sure though. I just remember the blog admin was significantly different enough that I noticed there was a change.

    I will hold off looking into the Facebook sharing issue until this is resolved since this is much more important to me.
